There are four main reasons why your Kuda Virtual Card might not be working:
- Recent Kuda Card Service Update: Kuda recently announced they are upgrading their card services. As part of this update, they have paused issuing new virtual cards and disabled existing cards. This is expected to last until July 2024.
- General Virtual Card Issues: If the card outage isn’t due to the update, then there could be other reasons why your virtual card isn’t working. These could include: Insufficient Funds, Incorrect Card Information such as not entering the virtual card number, expiration date, and CVV code correctly, Merchant restrictions and Technical Glitch.
- CBN’s restriction on Fintechs for onboarding new customers: Recently, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) stopped four Fintechs, including Kuda Bank, from signing new customer to their platforms. Although, this law has been dismissed, but it could still be causing potential glitches to Kuda App because the app have to adjust to meet CBN’s regulations.
- Your Kuda Account Has Been Restricted/Banned: if your Kuda account has been restricted or banned, your virtual card will not work. Kuda restricts accounts to protect your funds and prevent fraudulent activity. When your account is restricted, most or all functionalities are limited, including using your virtual card.
